Run together

Following the BBC news piece that went out a week or so ago, we had a big influx of runners.  So instead of trying to meet everyone individualy, we thought we’d all go for a run together.

For a while we’ve been trying to think of things that we could usefully do as a group that wouldn’t interupt our run too much; we’ve thought of things like clearing rubble, cleaning windows, delivering library books, moving heavy things and painting walls.  On Monday we’re going to give this a go for the first time.  Our friends at St Hilda’s East have set us a task and we’re going to help them with some manual labour doing some important tasks that often get forgotten about.

If you’d like to come and run with us – here’s the details, the run will be 3 to 4 miles long.

Time:
7pm, 16th of August, 2010

Location:
York Hall
5-15 Old Ford Road
Bethnal Green
London E2 9PJ
(York Hall is close to Bethnal Green Tube which is on the Central line)

If you intend to come – email mark@thegoodgym.org and let us know to expect you.

Part of the solution has to be to take a holistic and strategic look at an ageing society. For example, Can we find innovative ways of paying for preventative healthcare? Can we incentivise people to stay active for longer? Can we deliver more and better jobs for those close to (and beyond) the State Pension Age? Or could we offer a flexible state pension where individuals could choose to draw down a smaller state pension earlier in retirement in return for a more generous one later on?.
